Mr. Welch has been practicing law for more than 40 years, handling criminal cases, family law cases, personal injury, contracts, probate, and real estate matters. Mr. Welch has vast experience representing people accused of major crimes, including murder, rape, robbery, burglary, drugs, theft, sex offenses, fraud, burglary, child molestation, forgery, aggravated assault, and battery. He investigates the cases thoroughly and helps his clients decide whether to proceed to trial or negotiate more with the prosecutor to reach an acceptable resolution. As in felony court, Mr. Welch continues to represent people accused of misdemeanors in state court in cases involving DUI, shoplifting, assault, battery, marijuana possession, spousal abuse, and a variety of other charges.
As a family law attorney, he represents people in divorce, custody, support, contempt, and property cases in Marietta and metro Atlanta courts. If a satisfactory settlement cannot be reached before formal proceedings, the case will go to mediation for another attempt at settlement. He counsels his clients before and during mediation and attempts to reach a resolution without a costly court battle. If a resolution cannot be reached by agreement, he will advance to a hearing or a trial and will assist clients in preparing for courtroom activities. Georgia allows litigants to have a jury trial in divorce cases, and Mr. Welch will work with clients before and during court appearances.
As an attorney, my job isn’t just to win your case — it’s to be an advocate who helps you every step of the way.
